Ashland High tennis teams pick up wins over Klamath Union

KLAMATH FALLS — Led by No. 1 singles standout Rox Rogers, the Ashland High boys tennis team rolled to a 6-0 win on the road over Klamath Union on Friday afternoon.
Rogers, who was a Class 5A state finalist as a junior last season, didn’t drop a game in his win over KU’s No. 1 singles player, Gerald Yang.
The Grizzlies only had to come from behind in one of its six matches on the day, with Ivan Weblow winning back-to-back sets 6-3 and 10-5, respectively, to beat Beau Stocke in the No. 3 singles.
Ashland faces Marist at 1 p.m. this afternoon.

ASHLAND 5, KLAMATH UNION 3: At Ashland, Ashland claimed its second straight close victory in the span of four days by edging Klamath Union in a home win.
After splitting the four doubles matchups two apiece, the Grizzlies were able to come out victorious in three of the four doubles matches to claim the overall team victory.
With today’s regularly-scheduled doubleheader in Eugene against Churchill and Marist cancelled due to weather, Ashland will return to the court on Thursday, April 12, against South Medford.
