Leslie Ann Gomberg

    Leslie Ann Gomberg, of Ashland, (born New York, New York, formerly of Brookings and Rogue River, Oregon; Tujunga and Van Nuys, California) widow of the late William Roos Gomberg (Retired Lt Cmdr, USN), daughter of the late Lew and Ella Schulman, passed peacefully the morning of November 5, 2017, at Asante Ashland Community Hospital. Leslie studied education, sociology, and psychology at University of Vermont, George Washington University, Cal State Northridge, and Antioch University. After teaching elementary school in Los Angeles, she worked as a Psychologist and mental health crisis counselor, most recently in Josephine County, Ore., retiring from practice in 1998. Leslie was a passionate animal lover and naturalist, devoting much of her time to her beloved dachshunds, most recently Leo, Brianna, and the late Wolfie. Throughout her life, Leslie involved herself in many environmental and animal welfare causes and charities. In Rogue River, Leslie made a point of exploring the many natural beauties of the Rogue Valley on horseback. In Ashland, Leslie was active in Havurah Shir Hadash, where she met many friends. She is survived by her children, Dr. Eric Tabor of Madisonville, Louisiana and Lisa Tabor. Memorial services will be held at Jacksonville Cemetery at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2017, followed by a gathering at Havurah Shir Hadash, 185 N. Mountain Ave. at 3 p.m.
