Readers responded to Sunday’s front-page editorial in the Mail Tribune calling on our congressional leaders to decide upon – and fund – concrete policies now that will help prevent catastrophic wildfires and choking smoke in the future.
It’s something we all care about deeply, and the Ashland Daily Tidings and the Mail Tribune are going to keep on it. In the coming days, weeks and months, we’ll explore this multifaceted issue from all sides. We’ll report on what Congress has done to help reduce wildfire threat, and if it’s fallen short, who’s responsible and why. We’ll look at what’s being done at the state and local level, too.
Read the editorial here. You’ll find contact information for our congressional leaders at the end. Let them know you want action. Now.
