    Food Project says thanks

As winter approaches and the spirit of giving is at its height, we are thankful. On Dec. 8 (and five other times this year) nearly 3,000 households in our commuity left a bright green bag full of nonperishable food on their driveways, porches and doorsteps which were picked up by a brigade of Neighborhood Coordinators. This month, upwards of 33,000 pounds of food were dropped at the Ashland Emergency Food Bank to help our neighbors alleviate their food insecurity.

The Ashland Food Project would also like to thank this month’s Thank You/Reminder Card sponsor, Paddington Station and their family of stores. Another reason why buying local supports giving local.

By sharing food, the Ashland Food Project builds community. To see how easy it is, go to our website, ashlandfoodproject.com. Our next greenbag pickup is Feb. 9.

    Thank you, Ashland!
