Direct from America's "Sin City," Moksha will present improvisational funk-rock at 9 p.m$346; Saturday, Feb. 11, at Cebolla Bar & Grill, 1951 Ashland St., Ashland.
The band, accompanied by horn players Jen Hartswick, Skerik and Peter Apfelbaum, is touring behind its second album, "Here to Go" (2011) — 13 tracks of psychedelic funk, melodic pop, reggae, electronica and rip-roaring rock 'n' roll. The short tour kicked off last Friday in Las Vegas and ends Sunday, Feb. 12, in Portland.
Moksha, which formed four years ago, is bassist John Heishman, keyboardist Brian Triola, drummer Patrick Gray, guitarist Jeremy Parks and lead vocalist Sam Lemos.
The band's original sound crosses modern with vintage as musicians weave electronic beats with retro instruments, such as a vintage keyboard, lap steel guitar and Hammond organ.
Local band Butcher will open the show at Cebolla. The cover is $10. Call 541-708-0290 or see www.mokshatime.com
