First Friday art walk in Ashland

    New exhibits highlight the First Friday art walk in Ashland's downtown and Railroad District. The monthly art walk will be held from 5 to 8 p.m.

    Art walk maps are available at the galleries and at the Ashland Chamber of Commerce. Visitors will find opportunities to meet the artists, watch art demonstrations, hear live music and enjoy refreshments at some of the galleries.

    The following galleries are members of the Ashland Gallery Association:

    Adelante! Gallery & Tea House: 88 N. Main St.,, 541-488-0290. "Collector's Choice" sale on selected artwork, as well as live music, tea and treats.

    ART & SOUL GALLERY: 247 E. Main St.,, 541-488-9006. "Painted Memories of 2011," a collection of plein air oil landscapes by Silvia Trujillo, as well as dulcimer music by Douglas Ross, wine and refreshments.

    ASHLAND ART CENTER: 357 E. Main St.,, 541-301-5975. Photographs printed on canvas, metal and paper by Lewis Anderson as well as open artist studios, refreshments and live music by Garrett Baxter.

    ASHLAND ART WORKS: 291 Oak St.,, 541-488-4735. Sculpture by new member Marlyn Reeves and a sale on work by gallery artists.

    BOHEMIA GALLERY AND FRAMING: 552 A St.,, 541-488-5227. "Big and Small," a collection of photography, ceramics and paintings by seven artists. The gallery will not be open for Friday's art walk.

    DAVIS AND CLINE GALLERY: 525 A St., Suite 1, 541-482-2069, The gallery's next exhibit "The Figurative Show" opens in February.

    GALLERIE KARON: 500 A St., 541-482-9008. "Images of Water II: Water Flows in Many Ways," a collection of artists' interpretations of water, as well as live jazz and munchies.

    HANSON HOWARD GALLERY: 89 Oak St.,, 541-488-2562. A group exhibit opens Wednesday, Jan. 18. The gallery will not be open for Friday's art walk.

    HillTop Gallery: 859B Mountain Meadows Drive,, 541-708-5141. "Inner/Outer Space," a collection of work by Augusta Lucas Andreae and Jim Thompson, opens Sunday, Jan. 15. The gallery will not be open for Friday's art walk.

    HOUSTON'S CUSTOM FRAMING AND FINE ART: 270 E. Main St.,, 541-482-1983. Oil paintings by Sarah Waldron as well as an exhibit by gallery artists.

    ILLAHE STUDIOS AND GALLERY: 215 Fourth St.,, 541-488-5072. "Winter Lights," featuring hand-blown glass lanterns by Steven Cornett, as well as live music by father-son duo Generation Jones, wine and cheese.

    SCHNEIDER MUSEUM OF ART: 1250 Siskiyou Blvd.,, 541-552-6245. "SEVEN Rethinking Ceramics," a collection of ceramic work by seven contemporary artists, opens Thursday, Jan. 12.
