Indie folk trio Kites & Crows will present old and new acoustic originals along with its new album, "Wintersmith," at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Liquid Assets, 96 N. Main St., Ashland.
The new album has 13 tracks, including favorites from the trio's last two EPs, "Villager" (June 2011) and "Golden Room" (November 2010), and four brand-new songs.
Kites & Crows was formed in 2008 by Jesse Baldwin (accordion and banjo) and Mysha Caruso (guitar, kick-drum and vocals). A year later, cellist Nancy Martin joined the project. The three musicians also rotate playing vibraphonette, which adds vintage charm.
The Ashland show is free. Copies of "Wintersmith" will be available. Kites & Crows has a name-your-own price policy on its CDs. See www.kitesandcrows.net or call 541-482-9463.
