KLAMATH FALLS — Ashland 138-pounder Niccolo Cellini and 182-pounder Trevor Fulton both came home with tournament championships and three more Grizzlies finished in the top five of their weight class in the eight-team Henley Holiday Classic at Henley High School on Friday.
Cellini quickly pinned his first two opponents in less than a minute and beat Henley’s Tulson Higgins in a 10-6 decision to capture the 138-pound title.
After first- and second-round byes, Fulton earned a dominant 16-0 technical fall win over Mazama’s Christian Murphy in the semifinals before pinning Nick Biaggi of Corning Union in a final that lasted only 1 minute, 24 seconds.
Also for the Grizzlies, Jonah Rosewood bounced back from a quarterfinal loss to take third place in the 152-pound weight class. Rosewood rolled to three consolation pins to advance to the third-place match, where he pinned Henley’s Jeremiah Shaffer in 54 seconds.
Mazama won the team title with 354 points, Henley was second with 311 and Ashland came in sixth with 100.5.
